CUSTOM-SIZED AORTIC VALVE: 3-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING USING GEOMETRIC MODELING OF AORTIC ROOT MORPHOLOGY

چکیده

Objective: The aortic valve complex is an anatomical and a physiological junctional structure. Its root morphology presents structure extending from the ventriculoarterial to sinotubular junction consisting of three Valsalva sinuses cusps achieve optimal pump function left ventricle. In this research study, geometric model was created allowing input make it applicable in cardiac surgery. Material Methods: has consistent shape that can be described mathematically, dependent on diameter. mathematical structures developed with Bézier technique, is, by obtaining curve or surface controlled designer. Primarily, boundary curves tissue modeled were determined, which then revealed frame surface. next step, within frame, leaflets obtained interpolations. Results: After threedimensional (3-D) computer-aided design display finished Blender, exported as stereolithographic document printed using polylactic corrosive fibers. Conclusion: Geometric modeling heart valves threedimensional imaging used production customized prosthetic valves. Evaluation features geometrical could adapted for other valves.

Repair of trileaflet aortic valve prolapse: mid-term outcome in patients with normal aortic root morphology.

We described our mid-term results in repairing prolapsing aortic cusps in 21 patients with aortic regurgitation and normal aortic root morphology. Aortic regurgitation was moderate-severe in five patients and severe in 16 patients. Prolapse involved the left cusp in four patients (19%), the right cusp in 10 patients (47%) and the non-coronary cusp in 7 (33%) patients. Correction of the prolapsi...

A rare case of prosthetic aortic valve endocarditis complicated with multiple fistula to peri aortic structure

Multiple aorto-cardiac cavity communications is very rare but important complication of prosthetic aortic valve endocarditis. The case below illustrates multiple aorto-cardiac cavity fistula formation following prostethic aortic valve endocarditis presented with slowly progressive symptoms of heart failure. A brief review of surgical reconstruction and the existing literature are presented, i...

Stentless Aortic Valve/Root Replacement

In-vitro, stentless valves have a larger effective orifice area than their stented counterparts. This is best exemplified by the fact that a 25-mm Mosaic valve, which is stented, is manufactured using a 23-mm Freestyle stentless valve. So, in order to end-up with similar effective orifice areas when implanting a stentless valve or a stented valve in the same size left ventricular outflow tract,...

Valve-sparing aortic root replacement.

The aortic root has a unique 3-dimensional configuration and the distinctive function of supporting the aortic valve and blood vessels. The sinuses of Valsalva are crucial to create appropriate eddy currents that are important in initiating and coordinating aortic valve closure and promoting coronary artery blood flow. Most aneurysms in the aortic root are associated with degenerative changes i...
